The initial event announcement highlighted Echidna Warrior Knuckles, Serenity Tikal, Luminosity Sonic and the Echidna Tribe Knuckles Chao Buddy. The fuller Steam post adds Gummy Tails and an Egg Golem Buddy to the current lineup.
SEGA is also bringing back the Sonic Adventure Event Bundle, Chaos Skin Bundle and Dreamcast Buddy, giving the anniversary event an even stronger connection to the Dreamcast game beyond its echidna-focused costumes.
The Dreamcast Buddy is an especially fitting return for September 9. Sonic Adventure launched alongside the Dreamcast in North America on 9/9/99, the anniversary being celebrated by the event.
There is also a separate Twitch Drops campaign running from September 9 at 08:00 UTC through September 30 at 08:00 UTC.
Players can earn four stickers by watching eligible Sonic Rumble Party streams:
- Knuckles vs. Rouge
- Tails vs. Dr. Eggman
- Wish for Peace (Tikal)
- Perfect Chaos (Chaos)
The campaign also awards 100 Red Star Rings.
With Chaos, Tikal, Egg Golem, the Dreamcast and several familiar Sonic Adventure character pairings now represented, the Echidna Tribe Event has grown into a broader celebration of the game rather than being limited to Knuckles and his ancestry.
The Echidna Tribe Event runs through October 5 at 07:59 UTC, while the Twitch Drops campaign ends on September 30 at 08:00 UTC.

Sonic Rumble Party has gone back to 1999 for its latest event.
SEGA has launched the Echidna Tribe Event, timed to the 27th anniversary of Sonic Adventure’s North American release on September 9, 1999. The event is live now and runs through October 5 at 07:59 UTC.
At the center of the event is Echidna Warrior Knuckles, a new costume that pulls directly from the ancient echidna culture seen throughout Sonic Adventure. He is available through the Premium Pass alongside an Echidna Tribe Knuckles Chao Buddy.
The Red Star Ring Shop is getting two more new looks: Serenity Tikal and Luminosity Sonic. Serenity Tikal gives Tikal a softer, ceremonial design, while Luminosity Sonic adds another anniversary-themed Sonic variant to the game’s growing costume lineup.
The event also brings back a larger batch of Sonic Adventure material. SEGA’s current lineup includes the Sonic Adventure Event Bundle, Chaos Skin Bundle and Dreamcast Buddy, while Tikal, Chaos and other Sonic Adventure items are being returned to the game permanently rather than disappearing again once the event ends.
That permanent return is probably the nicest part of the update for anyone who missed the earlier Adventure content.
The current event lineup also includes Gummy Tails and an Egg Golem Buddy, giving the update a few additions beyond the three headline character skins. SEGA is also running a new Twitch Drops campaign alongside the event, with Sonic Adventure-themed stickers and Red Star Rings available through participating streams until September 30 at 08:00 UTC.
The timing is deliberate. September 9 marks the anniversary of both the North American Dreamcast launch and Sonic Adventure’s release on the system, making the Echidna Tribe theme a particularly fitting callback to the game that introduced Tikal, Chaos and much of Knuckles’ ancient history to the series.
The Echidna Tribe Event is available now in Sonic Rumble Party and runs until October 5.
